IGN & 1UP have today posted up 2 new interviews, they both content new screenshots, so instead of watching some of the illegal gameplay footage that is flooding the internet today, go visit:-
- We won't stop until you can't tell the difference between our artificial world and the real world -- although the cock gags might give it away.
- We've tried to make everything feel more realistic, from the weight of the cars and the traction curve of the tyres, to the way that the player leans when running to get round corners.

Gamespot have today posted up an interview article with Mondo Ghulam, Animation Artist at Rockstar North, about the animation in GTA IV. The article is well worth a read it also comes with ten brand new screenshots displaying some of the facial expressions
- With a game like ours, we not only have several movies' worth of animation but we also have even more gameplay interwoven with the story. In terms of production there is a lot more to coordinate and integrate--"two masters to serve," as it were. Ultimately, the two should go hand in hand to produce a singular experience for the player.

IGN have published an interview with Aaron Garbut, Art Director at Rockstar North. Also included were twelve nice (new) screenshots of GTA IV. Here are some interesting facts from the article:
- In terms of land mass, GTA IV's Liberty City is three times as large as GTA III's, but this time around it's much more dense and varied.
- When asked about how textures and details were done: "We took around a quarter of a million photos and a silly amount of video footage...I have 20 DVDs of traffic flows at random junctions at various times of the day sitting on my desk here as an example, and a few hours of footage of a night in a Russian supper club."

Aaron Garbut, Art Director at Rockstar North spoke to Eurogamer about GTA IV.
We never reproduce real world locations. We take interesting or representative elements and create something new from them. It's about taking inspiration from real places and producing something that captures the essence of it. We're trying to take our impression of New York and keep it as that, an impression, not a laboured reproduction.

German magazine Games Aktuell is the latest magazine to review Grand Theft Auto IV. Here is their verdict: - Graphics: 9/10
The gigantic size of the city makes you forget the few graphical imperfections of the game.
- Sound: 10/10
Best GTA soundtrack ever, and probably the most compelling feature in the game.
- Controls: 8/10
Far from perfect but a big step from the previous GTA games.
- Multiplayer: 9/10
Great concept and innovative integration with the single-player mode.
- Gameplay: 10/10
We can't score it 11/10...
- Conclusion:
GTA4 is by far the best action game ever created. Discuss this and other GTAIV related news in our forums |
